Some actions require your approval before your Hand can proceed, particularly actions in connected services. You can inspect the proposed action before deciding. Whether an action requires review depends on the permissions for that integration.
Find an approval request
- In the Hands Console, open Chat → Tasks.
- Select Open if needed and look for Approval requested or a row marked as needing your attention.
- Expand the row or its details arrow. Check the proposed action, target, connected account, requested permission and expiry when shown.
- Choose Approve if the action is correct, or Decline / Reject if you do not want it to run.
- If the row offers Open full review, follow it to finish the decision on the dedicated review page.
Approval applies to the proposed action. It does not automatically grant broad access for future actions. Manage standing integration permissions under Integrations, not on a task row.
Review a Google Drive or YouTube action
When a Hand prepares a supported Google action, a queue named Pending reviewed Google actions can appear under Integrations → Plug-ins. It appears only while a proposal for the selected Hand is still waiting for a decision. A link from Chat can open the exact proposal directly.
Check a Google Drive proposal
- Check the Provider, Action, filename, MIME type, file size and expiry.
- Check the destination. A new upload shows a Drive parent ID; replacing a file shows an Existing Drive file ID. The review may show an identifier instead of a friendly folder or account name.
- Open Technical details and inspect Arguments SHA-256 and Content SHA-256. An Intent ID can also appear. Hands uses these values to bind the review to the exact request and file; you do not need to calculate or paste them.
- Choose Approve only if the destination and file details match your instruction. Otherwise choose Reject.
If the exact destination, metadata or hashes cannot be checked completely, approval is disabled while rejection remains available. Ask your Hand to prepare a new, complete proposal rather than trying to bypass the review.
Check a YouTube proposal
Choose Open secure YouTube review. Check the connected destination, Hand, exact video name, size, MIME type, expiry and integrity values. The review may say Connected YouTube account (channel identity not supplied in proposal); do not assume a channel name that is not shown.
You can adjust the title, description, visibility, category, tags and subscriber notification before approval. You must explicitly choose Yes or No for Made for kids and Altered or synthetic media, then check the upload-consent box.
Depending on the review version, the settings fingerprint can appear under the label Arguments SHA-256 instead of Settings SHA-256. It is not a separate field named “Proposal SHA-256.” Hands binds your decision to the displayed settings automatically; you do not need to calculate or paste a hash.
Choose Approve and upload only after checking the final settings, or choose Reject upload. Approval authorizes the Hand to attempt that exact action; it is not proof that Google Drive or YouTube completed it. Return to Chat and inspect the recorded outcome.
If a proposal expired, was already handled or is no longer waiting, ask your Hand to prepare a new review when the action is still needed. Provider access remains a separate requirement: a Hands approval cannot expand the permissions granted by Google.
Approve during a call
If your Hand asks for permission during a voice call, Chat may show Approval needed with a Review action.
- Select Review or the reminder above the transcript.
- Read the request, then choose Approve or Reject.
- If the integration requires a dedicated screen, choose Review in Tasks and complete it there.
You do not need to restart the call just to inspect a request.
What happens next?
Approve lets your Hand attempt that action; it does not mean the action has completed. Under Tasks, the status may change to Waiting for the Hand, Running on the Hand, Done or an error. Expand the task and inspect its recorded outcome. Actions allowed to run automatically may never produce an approval request.
You may also see New capability with Review. This is a notice about optional access: it opens the integration settings. Viewing the notice does not enable the extra permission.
If you cannot complete a review
- No request appears: check Tasks → Open and use Refresh if needed. The request might already have been handled or expired.
- Buttons unavailable: check the current status and whether the request is still pending; do not blindly repeat the action.
- A specialized review is needed: use Open full review rather than the inline task controls.
- No result after approval: inspect the recorded task outcome or the connected app. Approval alone is not proof of execution.
If you do not recognize the account or proposed change, decline it and give your Hand a more specific instruction.
