Cookies
One necessary session cookie. Optional analytics only after your choice.
What we set
| Name | What it does | Lifetime | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
hands_session |
Keeps you signed in. It holds a signed reference to your account and nothing else — no behavior, no history, no identifier shared with anyone. | 30 days | Not required: strictly necessary for a service you asked for |
_ga and _ga_<container-id> |
Google Analytics 4 may set these first-party cookies to distinguish users and maintain analytics session state on the approved measurement routes. | Up to 2 years | Required: set only after you allow analytics |
Hands uses Google Analytics cookies only after you choose to allow analytics. Without analytics consent, Hands does not load the Google Analytics tag and no Analytics measurement request is sent. You can continue without analytics and change or withdraw your choice at any time through Analytics preferences.
Hands does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, session recording or A/B-testing cookies. Analytics is limited to approved public-page measurement and a small set of signup and activation milestones. Query strings, URL fragments, page referrer/title, email addresses, account or Hand identifiers/names, secrets/tokens and free-form text are technically excluded.
Your choice
The session cookie is strictly necessary and does not require consent. Analytics is optional: allowing it never becomes a condition for using Hands, and withdrawing it stops new Analytics measurement and removes the Analytics cookies Hands can access from this site.
Third parties
Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in with Google, your browser loads a script from Google and Google may set its own cookies under its own policy.
Google Analytics 4. Only after analytics consent, approved Hands routes may load the Google tag and send the narrow measurement described above. Advertising features, Google Signals and user-provided data collection are not enabled.
Fonts. The two typefaces are served from this site, not from Google's font CDN, so loading a page does not tell Google that you loaded it.
Stripe. Only when you open Stripe's hosted checkout or customer portal, Stripe may set cookies needed for payment and fraud prevention. Regular Hands pages do not load Stripe.
Everyone confirmed to process data on our behalf is listed in the confirmed-subprocessor table on the sub-processors page; optional recipients are listed separately.
Clearing cookies and changing your choice
Signing out removes the session cookie. Withdrawing analytics consent through Analytics preferences immediately stops new Analytics measurement and removes the Google Analytics cookies Hands can access. Clearing all site data in your browser removes both the cookies and your saved preference; you will simply be asked to choose again.
