Enable or disable a phone per Hand

Decide which Hand can use your linked Android phone without changing access for other Hands or Android permissions.

A linked Android phone can be used by more than one Hand. Under Devices, you can decide for each selected Hand whether that phone is available to it. This controls the Hands-managed connection, not the permissions granted by Android itself.

Change access for one Hand

  1. Open the Hands Console and select the Hand whose phone access you want to change.
  2. Go to Devices. Find your phone under connected devices and verify its name and current status.
  3. Select Disable for [Hand name] on its card. You can find the action among its icon buttons or under Device actions; an icon-only button carries the full action label.
  4. Wait for the Console to save and refresh. Check the line for the selected Hand; it may now say Disabled for this Hand.
  5. To restore the managed connection for the same Hand, choose Enable for [Hand name] and check the updated binding status.

If you have several Hands, select each Hand separately to review its setting. Disabling the phone for Hand A does not disable it for Hand B.

Four different kinds of access

  • Disable for one Hand: stops the managed phone connection for that Hand only. The phone remains registered and other Hands may still use it.
  • Pause for all Hands: temporarily suspends all Hands-managed connections for the phone. You can resume them later.
  • Unlink from all Hands: revokes the account enrollment; to use the phone again through managed access, you must sign in from Hands Mobile again.
  • Android permissions: settings such as accessibility, notifications and file access are granted or revoked on your Android phone. The Console toggle does not change them.

Manage any manually configured MCP connections separately in Integrations. A phone binding does not override action approvals or other permission rules.

If the toggle or connection is missing

  • App update needed: the Console hides the per-Hand toggle until the phone uses a supported app version. See Update Hands Mobile.
  • Offline or Connecting: check Last seen, open Hands Mobile, verify the network and select Refresh devices. The Hand’s binding may still need time to update.
  • Paused globally: resume the device for all Hands first if you want a selected Hand to reach it.
  • Permission needed / allowed but not ready: review Android permissions. Enabling a Hand does not grant Android permissions.

For account-wide actions, see Pause or unlink a connected phone.
